Extension Privacy Policy

The Fenly - AI for Work extension ("the extension") helps you capture emails from Gmail and Outlook and send them to your own Fenly account, where Fenly extracts tasks, deadlines, and context. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it's used, and what controls you have.
Summary
- The extension only reads the email you choose to send, at the moment you click "Send to Fenly". It does not read your inbox automatically or in the background.
- Your data goes only to your own Fenly account (at api.fenly.app), over a secure connection (HTTPS), authenticated by a token unique to you.
- The extension does not sell your data and does not share it with third parties for advertising.
What data the extension accesses
When you trigger the capture of an email, the extension reads — only from that email / conversation:
- subject;
- content (body) of the messages;
- name and email address of the sender;
- date and time;
- conversation and message identifiers (to avoid duplicates).
The extension does not access: emails you didn't select, attachments, your contact list, your browsing history, or the address you're signed in with on the webmail. For authentication, the extension stores locally (via chrome.storage) an access token unique to your account and the extension's settings.
How the data is used
The captured content is sent to your Fenly account and processed to extract action items, deadlines, people, and context, and to let you ask questions about that content. This processing includes the use of AI providers (to generate summaries, extract tasks, and index the content for search). The token is used solely to authenticate your submissions.
Sharing and subprocessors
Your data is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising. It is handled by Fenly and its infrastructure and AI subprocessors, strictly to provide the service to you — for example: a hosting and database provider, and the AI model providers used for task extraction and search. These subprocessors process the content only to run the service, under contract.
Retention and deletion
Captured content is stored in your Fenly account until you delete it. You can remove emails and items inside Fenly at any time.
Your controls
- Revoke access: in Settings → Email extension in Fenly, disconnect the extension (this invalidates the token). You can also remove the extension from Chrome.
- Delete data: remove the emails / items inside your Fenly account.
Security
All communication uses HTTPS. The token is stored by Chrome's storage mechanism and sent only to api.fenly.app.
Limited Use
The use and transfer of data obtained through the extension comply with the Chrome Web Store Limited Use policy: the data is used only to provide user-facing features, is not sold, is not used for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality, and is not used for advertising.

We may update this policy; the date at the top reflects the latest revision.
